The car is warming up in the driveway–it’s freezing this morning, by the way! and the children are all milling around getting themselves ready for the day.  I have about five minutes and I’m determined to get back to my blog!  I miss it and I miss capturing our life in a way that highlights all that God is doing.

We have a whopper day today.  The girls are headed to my mom’s this afternoon for a weekend away.  They are all so excited.  Olivia is struggling with a cough, so I’ll have to decide later this morning whether she will be allowed to go.  We are hyper-vigilant about germs and exposing others since we have often been the recipients of could-have-been-prevented illnesses that were spread by uncaring individuals.  Though we accomplished all the necessary and important things this week, we still have yet to:

  • finish the laundry
  • buy my niece a birthday gift for they party the girls will be attending this weekend
  • clean the house for Bible study tonight
  • make cookies
  • pack the girls for the weekend

It’s a daunting list, but I know that we will manage to get it all done somehow! Praise God for helpful children and a loving husband who is always willing to jump in and help us swim when it seems we might drown:)

We will only have the company of our Boy this weekend and the last time that happened was when we brought him home from the hospital.  I think we will be just as busy, though a different kind of busy.  Samuel does keep us hopping these days!  He single-handedly disabled our telephone system yesterday…still not sure how he did it or how to fix it!

Okay, time for school, then chores and the mad dash to the finish line of this day…good thing God trains us for marathons!

Thank You, Lord, for Your peace and Your presence.  Thank You that our cup is overflowing…with love, with grace, with mercy.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
